Wastewater Public Advisory Committee (WPAC)
The Wastewater Public Advisory Committee was formed by the Board of Directors of the Hi-Desert Water District in October 2007 to serve as a community voice in the development and planning of the Wastewater Treatment & Water Reclamation Project.
Mission
The mission of the Wastewater Public Advisory Committee is to offer citizen input on wastewater policies and programs. Membership is designed to reflect the knowledge and interest of major affected constituencies: ratepayers, businesses, church/religious groups, senior citizens, engineering & construction industry, environmental advocacy, etc.
Scope
The scope of the Wastewater Public Advisory Committee for the planning and design of the waste treatment and reclamation plant and collection system includes:
• Community Involvement Program
• Stakeholder outreach and public information
• Phasing options
• Financing options
• Financial assistance program
• Wastewater rate formulation
Role
The role of the Wastewater Public Advisory Committee is advisory, offering citizen input to Hi-Desert Water District staff. District staff will utilize this input to help formulate and provide the Hi-Desert Water District Board recommendations for Board consideration and direction on wastewater policy.
Meetings
