About Your Bill

 

All accounts are billed on a monthly basis and are payable upon receipt. It is the responsibility of the customer to pay the water bill each month, even if a bill is not received. Customers who do not receive a bill by their normal billing date are responsible for contact the District for the amount owed.

 

Description of Charges

 

Water Charge – The water charge is billed in units (One unit equals 748 gallons). 
This charge funds a portion of the District’s operating costs and the cost to purchase water.

Service Charge – Accounts are charged this amount every month according to account type and meter size, whether or not water is consumed. This charge funds a portion of the operating costs of the District.

Debt Service – All accounts are charged the same amount to fund the Morongo Basin Pipeline and the recharge facilities.

Past Due/Delinquent Bills

 

A bill is considered past due if not received within 20 days of the billing date. A late fee is charged to the account after 30 days ($10 or 10% of the past due bill, whichever is greater). Service may be discontinued for non-payment after 40 days. The District will attempt to call customers prior to lock-off. It is the customers responsibility to make sure the District has the most current contact information.
 
Payment Options
 
Online – Make a one-time payment online using your credit card or checking account.  There is no fee for making a payment online.
 
Auto Pay – This is a free service.  Your payment will be automatically deducted from your account on the due date. You will still receive a bill in the mail to view your charges prior to the due date. To sign up complete the Auto Pay Application and provide a voided check to Customer Service.
 
By Phone – Pay your bill by phone with your credit card, call (760) 365-8333.  A fee of $2.95 per transaction will be charged for payments made by phone.
 
Drop Box – There are two drop box locations for your convenience:

 *Please note payments dropped in the drop box after 8:00 a.m. will be posted the next business day.

In person – Make your payment at the Hi-Desert Water District main office building at 55439 29 Palms Hwy., Yucca Valley.
