Water Quality & Production Department

The Water Quality & Production Department consists of nine employees.  Responsibilities include water quality testing, reporting, backflow protection and cross-connections, well maintenance, booster stations, the Nitrate Treatment Plant, telemetry, storage tanks and more.  They make sure our water is safe and reliable.  For questions regarding any of these topics contact Customer Service at (760) 365-8333.

Hi-Desert Water District tests its water at each well and at numerous locations throughout the distribution system on a regular basis. Additional tests are conducted in the event a well or any portion of a main line is repaired. Samples are collected by a certified District employee and analyzed by an independent state certified laboratory. The results of each test are then forwarded to both the District and the Department of Health Services for examination. With these rigorous testing procedures, the public is assured that the water delivered to their home is safe and healthful. Below are past annual water quality reports mailed to our customers.
