The District's Capital Replacement Program (CRP) has been in place since 1998.  Since that time over 460,000 linear feet of old steel pipeline has been replaced with newer, larger pipeline made of more durable material.  Newer pipeline provides better water quality, better fire flow protection and better service reliability.  As meter sales have declined and property tax revenues keep decreasing, the District has been challenged to continue to fund this critical program.  At the July 21, 2010 regular board meeting, the Board of Directors held a public hearing to increase to the CRP Charge to fund the program.  The board heard comments opposed to and supporting the CRP Charge increase.  Ultimately, the Board decided to adopt Ordinance 81 approving the  CRP Service Charge increase.  The new CRP Charge rates will be effective September 1, 2010, so customers will see the increase on their October 2010 bills.
