Welcome home to Hi-Desert Water District ... 

Hi-Desert Water District is located in the Town of Yucca Valley, approximately 30 minutes north of Palm Springs, in the southeast portion of the Mojave Desert. The District provides water service to the Town of Yucca Valley and portions of the unincorporated area of San Bernardino County. Through approximately 10,000 service connections the District serves a population of approximately 24,000 people.  The Hi-Desert Water District is a public agency/special district governed by a five member board, elected by the people.  

Mission Statement

To provide a dependable water supply and wastewater treatment for the customers of the 
Hi-Desert Water District in a safe, efficient, and financially responsible manner.

Yucca Valley’s Wastewater Project has reached a milestone.

Yucca Valley, August 6, 2009 – At the regular meeting held August 5, 2009, the Board of Directors completed the California Environmental Quality Act process and adopted the Mitigated Negative Declaration and Mitigation Monitoring Report for the Wastewater Treatment and Water Reclamation Project. This represents a major milestone in moving forward with the project. The estimated cost of the project is $121M for the phase one area.

Request for Proposal Well 20 Site Improvements & Equipping

Notice is hereby given that the General Manager of the Hi-Desert Water District is requesting engineering proposals for Site Improvements and Equipping Production Well 20 beginning August 3, 2009.  The RFP can be picked up at the District office at 55439 29 Palms Hwy Yucca Valley CA 92284 or online at HDWD.com.  Proposals will be accepted until 4:00 p.m. August 25, 2009 . Proposals can be mailed or delivered to Hi-Desert Water District at 55439 29 Palms Hwy Yucca Valley, California 92284.  Be it further noticed that the Hi-Desert Water District through the General Manager may accept or reject any or all proposals. Questions should be directed to Martha Ostrander or Mike Hayward at 760-365-8333.

Yucca Valley Chamber Luncheon

Learn about the Wastewater Project - The Yucca Valley Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a brown bag luncheon on Wednesday, August 19 from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at the Yucca Valley Community Center, Yucca Room.  This is open to the public, local businesses are encouraged to attend.  You may bring your lunch or purchase a lunch from the Chamber the day of the event for $5.00.  Please RSVP with the Chamber of Commerce by calling (760) 365-6323 no later than August 15.
