Welcome home to Hi-Desert Water District ... 

Hi-Desert Water District is located in the Town of Yucca Valley, approximately 30 minutes north of Palm Springs, in the southeast portion of the Mojave Desert. The District provides water service to the Town of Yucca Valley and portions of the unincorporated area of San Bernardino County. Through approximately 10,000 service connections the District serves a population of approximately 24,000 people.  The Hi-Desert Water District is a public agency/special district governed by a five member board, elected by the people.  

Mission Statement

To provide a dependable water supply and wastewater treatment for the customers of the 
Hi-Desert Water District in a safe, efficient, and financially responsible manner.

Yucca Valley’s Wastewater Project – Another Milestone

Because water quality is important to everyone, the Hi-Desert Water District continues to move forward with the planning of the Wastewater Treatment and Water Reclamation Project.

The District has released a Request for Proposal for engineering services to perform the Assessment District Formation.  Formation of an assessment district is a critical step in defining the parcels that will benefit from the project and determine what the potential costs will be for each property owner.  As previously determined by the HDWD Board of Directors, the Assessment District will not include the Mesa. . .

Season of Giving

On Friday, Hi-Desert Water District employees delivered 121 toys for boys and girls of all ages to Tender Loving Christmas. The Yucca Valley Wal-Mart chipped in by giving a 10% discount on the toys, which were purchased with money raised by the employees during Hi-Desert Water District’s annual employee holiday luncheon. Ed Muzik, the General Manager of the Hi-Desert Water District said, “Tender Loving Christmas – TLC is a fantastic organization and Hi-Desert Water District employees are grateful to have the opportunity to provide toys to over 120 children in need this holiday.”

Board of Directors Adopts Ordinance 80
Thursday, December 17, 2009 


At the regular board meeting held December 16, 2009 the Board of Directors adopted Ordinance 80 amending Ordinance 79 concerning rates for water service charges.  This will not increase customer bills, but instead reassigns the Debt Service Charge to the Capital Replacement Program.  The changes will take effect February 1, 2010.  Click here to view a copy of Ordinance 80.
