Customer Programs

Auto Pay Program

Hi-Desert Water District has made paying your water bill easier with its newest payment option - the Auto Pay program! Auto Pay is a new service, which gives District customers the convenience of paying their monthly water bills directly from a checking or savings account. A customer who is enrolled in the Auto Pay program will still receive a monthly water bill, with the confidence that they don't have to write a check or remember to mail an envelope. The amount due is taken from the customer's account of choice automatically on the due date, allowing them to keep their money in the bank until the last minute! Auto Pay is not only a time-saver for the customer, but also for the District. This program will provide greater efficiency for the District as customer payments made through this program are posted to the appropriate account automatically-without a customer service representative having to manually post the payment! For more information about Auto Pay or other District services, contact us at 760.365.8333. To sign up for the program, please download the application.

Household Water Awareness Program

Faucets can leak, automatic sprinkler systems can malfunction, toilets can run – all of which can result in a higher water bill. If you participate in the Household Water Awareness Program, you will better understand those potential problems. By appointment, a District representative will come to your house and provide you with a personalized evaluation of your system. Learn how to:

  1. Determine if you have a water leak
  2. Check for leaks on your own
  3. Read and shut off your water meter
  4. Avoid future problems with irrigation systems

All of this at no charge to you! Take advantage of the Household Water Awareness Program: save money on your water bill and conserve water all at the same time. Call the District at 760.365.8333 during business hours and make an appointment at a time convenient for you.

Low Income Credit Program

The Low Income Credit Program (LICP) authorizes a credit of 39% of the fixed charges to qualified low income residential water customers whose total annual income does not exceed the following:

# of Household Members Max. Household Income
1 or 2 $21,000
3 $26,400
4 $31,800
5 $37,200
Each additional $5,400

Tours of the District

The District offers free tours of its facilities. On the tour you will learn about the District, how the water moves underground, is pumped up by wells, and travels through miles of pipeline to your tap. Hear the roar of water as it rushes to the recharge basin through the pipe that flows 3,300 gallons per minute. Reservations are necessary so call now to reserve your seat on the bus. Tours are scheduled in the Spring and Fall.

For more information or to reserve a seat on the bus for the next tour, please contact Jennifer Cusack at 760.228.6267.

Grey Water Rebate Program

The District has developed a program that will promote water conservation for new development. This program is geared towards new residental construction. There are two different phases to the rebate program. First phase is incentive for the builder to construct the new home with the inital infrastructure that would later be used for the greywater system. The second phase is the actual utilization of the system. This is completed by the homeowner. For more information you may contact the District office at 760.365.8333 or read the application for more detail.
