We are pleased to share with you this year's annual water quality report.  This report is a snapshot of last year's water quality covering all testing performed between January 1 and December 31, 2024. Included are details about your source of water, what it contains, and how it compares to standards set by regulatory agencies. Our constant goal is to provide you with a safe and dependable supply of drinking water.

We want you to understand the efforts we make to continually improve the water treatment process and protect our water resources. We are committed to ensuring the quality of your water is safe and clean. Please remember we are available should you have any questions or concerns about your water quality.

PHASE 2 SEWER PROJECT UPDATE

We are getting closer to beginning construction on the next phase of the sewer collection system. The first neighborhood that will see construction will be part of Country Club, sometime this summer. The State Revolving Fund Department of Finance is working on the final budget approval to allow us to issue the Notice to Proceed (NTP) to our contractor Sukut Construction. We are also working closely with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife on the western Joshua tree permit(s) needed. The Town of Yucca Valley has also been an outstanding partner as we finalize the preconstruction activities.

Also, be sure to sign up for project updates via email and follow us on Facebook, NextDoor, Instagram or X for updates. Property owners in the Country Club area will get a letter to coordinate their private property lateral location. For updated information visit www.hdwd.com/phase2sewer

New Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators Join Our Team

Hi-Desert Water District is pleased to share the addition of two new wastewater treatment plant operators to our team.  We welcome Ernie Mungarro and James Olea.

Ernie comes to us from the Coachella Valley Water District and lives in Yucca Valley. He is excited to be closer to home and join our water district family. He changed careers to become a wastewater treatment plant operator because he is very interested in the water treatment and reclamation. He is a former business owner and is native to California.

James comes to us from Colton and started his career in water as a collection system maintenance worker. He recognized the amazing opportunities an education in wastewater treatment plant operations provides and decided to obtain the required certifications to be able to work at a wastewater treatment plant. He also now lives local with his family and is enjoying the desert life.
