In 1969, the Board of Directors established a water standby assessment which is a water availability charge for all unimproved land located within the District's boundary. This charge is established every year and is based on the size of the parcel and the assessment rate.
This year, there are no changes recommended to the fee or its criteria from the previous year.
UNIMPORVED CATEGORY 1
o $20.00 per parcel for each subdivision lot;
o $20.00 per parcel for first 2.5 acres of land or portion thereof, and $10.00 per acre for each acre or portion thereof exceeding 2.5 acres.
UNIMPROVED CATEGORY 2
o $4.00 per parcel less than one acre in size;
o $4.00 per acre for each acre or portion thereof exceeding one acre.
All parcels larger than one acre in size will be computed to the nearest one-tenth acre.
In no event shall the water standby charge on any parcel of land exceed one-thousand dollars ($1,000.00)
The Board of Director’s holds a public hearing for property owners prior to establishing standby fees each year. The annual standby assessment is reflected on the property owner's tax bill which is mailed out twice a year by the San Bernardino County Assessor's office.
PARCEL – A unit of property that receives a separate tax bill from the County of San Bernardino
UNIMPROVED CATEGORY 1 – The parcel is located within 2,640 feet of an existing District water pipeline and does not receive water service from the District
UNIMPROVED CATEGORY 2 – The parcel is not located within 2,640 feet of an existing District water pipeline and also does not receive water service from the District
IMPROVED – A parcel that is currently connected and receiving water service from the District
